The Starter Home Initiative For First Time Buyers In England Under Forty
15th December 2014
The Government have announced The Starter Home initiative for England which offers first-time buyers under the age of 40 a discount on buying a new home.
The new scheme will offer 100,000 properties with a 20% discount, managed by a change in the planning system, which will allow House Builders to develop under-used and brownfield land without the need to pay for planning costs and levies. Aspiring home owners will need to register their interest at the start of 2015.
So far nine local authorities have expressed their support for the scheme including Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, North Norfolk District Council, London Borough of Bexley and Poole Borough Council.
